Istituto di Studi Avanzati (IAS)

The Institute of Advanced Studies is part of the Istituto Studi Superiori of the Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna. It provides scholars and scientists of the University of Bologna with the instruments and the means to invite to Bologna visiting professors and junior scientists and to stimulate the circulation of ideas and the exchange of knowledge. The Institute of Advanced Studies supports international and interdisciplinary research activities at the University of Bologna, fostering the collaboration between researchers of different countries and fields and proposing to the researchers to leave their usual habitat. ISA also supports the participation of foreign students in local PhD courses. The Institute embraces all the academic disciplines represented at the University of Bologna.
