UBIAS Steering Committee
The UBIAS Steering Committee consists of eight elected members. At the last Directors’ Conference, virtually held by the Institute of Advanced Studies at Aix-Marseille University (IMéRA) in April 2021, the French Network of Institutes for Advanced Study (RFIEA) were elected coordinators of the UBIAS network for the period of 2021-2023. As chair, the RFIEA form the so-called 'Triumvirate' together with the Institute for Advanced Research at Nagoya University (IAR) and the Maria Sibylla Merian Institute for Advanced Studies in Africa at the University of Ghana (MIASA). The Steering Committee encompasses the 'Triumvirate' and five other members:

- Iris Avivi, Administrative Director at the IIAS (Israel Institute for Advanced Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem), Israel
- Clarissa Ball, Director at the IAS (Institute of Advanced Studies at the University of Western Australia), Australia
- Giovanni Galizia, Director at the Zukunftskolleg at the University of Konstanz, Germany
- Hisham Mehanna, Director at the IAS (Institute of Advanced Studies at the University of Birmingham), United Kingdom
- Guilherme Ary Plonski, Director at the IEA (Institute of Advanced Studies at the University of São Paulo), Brazil
The Steering Committee is responsible for identifying overarching themes and objectives for the biennial conferences and approach the Institute that will host the UBIAS conference. It processes membership requests and applications.
