Human+ Fellowships

The Trinity College Dublin offers two-year postdoctoral research fellowships in Ireland addressing human centric approaches to technology development.

HUMAN+ is an international and interdisciplinary fellowship programme led by the Trinity Long Room Hub Arts and Humanities Research Institute and ADAPT, the Science Foundation Ireland Centre for Digital Content Innovation, at Trinity College Dublin, and supported by the prestigious European Commission (EC) Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND Action. HUMAN+ seeks to recruit world leading researchers with a background in either Computer Science & Electronic Engineering or Arts & Humanities, who understand technology as well as humanistic principles, to conduct two-year postdoctoral research fellowships in Ireland addressing human centric approaches to technology development. To achieve this, HUMAN+ research topics are divided into two research strands which the applicant must choose between at the application stage. Strand 1- Questions that consider technological developments from the humanistic perspective Strand 2- Research for the development of computing technology with insights informed by the Arts and Humanities. Recruited Fellows will: • Be provided with a 24-month fully paid Fellowship based in either the Trinity Long Room Hub or the ADAPT Centre • Be supported by a dedicated multidisciplinary and intersectoral supervisory team consisting of a Primary Supervisor from their chosen disciplinary area, a Co-Supervisor from the alternate strand and an enterprise mentor from their secondment organisation. • Deepen their disciplinary expertise while developing their interdisciplinary competencies through being trained in the methodologies and theoretical foundations of the arts and humanities and information sciences alike. The programme will run until 2025 and consist of a number of application rounds with regular cut-off dates until the 18 fellowship positions are filled.
