A collegial governance

With a long story of collegial management, the UBIAS network is now governed by a Coordinating Council with IAS representatives from the five continents. Elected for two years, the Coordinating Council is lead by the Lead Coordinator.

In 2025, the Coordination Council was elected and is composed of seven members:

The Institute for Advanced Research (IAR) at the University of Nagoya, Japan
The Merian Institute for Advanced Study in Africa (MIASA) in Accra, Ghana
The Institute of Advanced Studies of the University of Sao Paulo (IEA-USP), Brazil
The Institute for Advanced Studies at the University fo Western Australia (IAS-UWA) in Perth, Australia
The Israel Institute for Advanced Study (IIAS) in Jerusalem, Israel
the Zukunftskolleg (ZUKO) in Konstanz, Germany
