Call for Applications: Durham University Institute of Advanced Study 2015/16 Fellowships


The Institute of Advanced Study is Durham University’s leading interdisciplinary research institute. Its major aim is to foster transformational exchanges of ideas and to enable creative collaborations across the entire disciplinary spectrum. The Institute seeks to catalyse new thinking on major annual themes by bringing together leading international academics as well as writers, artists and practitioners. The theme for 2015/16 is Evidence, interpreted in its broadest sense – scientifically, symbolically, legally, philosophically, artistically, politically, economically, and sociologically. Applications are now invited for up to 20, three-month Fellowships (October-December 2015 and January-March 2016), linked to the annual theme. Applicants may be from any academic discipline or professional background involving research, and they may come from anywhere in the world. IAS Fellowships include stipend, travel, accommodation, subsistence and costs associated with replacement teaching or loss of salary (where appropriate).
